had a GREAT deal of fun yesterday in band. Parade of the Wooden Bumbling Soldiers, To A Wild Rose, The Saints Go Marching Around The World (i managed to do a bit of the Far East part :D), Surprise Symphony, Selections From Mary Poppins (SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY VERY NICE!!!) AVENTURA, In All Its Glory.
Parade of the Wooden Bumbling Soldiers. Mr Yap said it sounds waaaay better than when we started out. heex ^^
for To A Wild Rose, i'm still running short of breath all the time, but i think i can keep it up lah ^^The Saints Go Marching Around The World... i'm getting better at that one :D but still need more practise.
new pieces yesterday, Surprise Symphony. it's very simple, but as Mr Yap said, the simpler it is, the more difficult it is to make it impressive. Surprise Symphony... haven't listened to it for a long time. brings back memories of primary school choir.
Mary Poppins... it's seriously very nice! couldn't keep up with it all the way, but still could manage. i like the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious part! it's so fun, so bouncy... i really like it ^^
AVENTURA! it's the best piece (in my opinion) we played yesterday. it sounds really really good, and i could play it through ^^ really like it :D
then In All Its Glory... a lot of running notes, and i went out to see Ms Leong at the beginning, so i couldn't keep up well... wanted to borrow Aventura and In All Its Glory home, but was rushing already... so i just borrowed my instrument. but still, this piece is really really pretty too. :D
James Swearingen writes really really nice pieces. MY GOSH MAN! it's really beautiful... :)

also, we got new instruments. okay, mine isn't NEW. it's a very old clarinet... but it's the second most expensive one, and it actually is very pretty apart from the very gross mouth piece WHICH DOESN'T HAVE A COVER and the RAFFIA STRING strap >< ah well, i think it's a waay better clarinet than my previous one. shall try it out later ^^
Majestia is a very nice piece too. and Blue Ridge Saga was written by James Swearingen too ^^
