hey all... blogging about my Beijing trip... not much to write... and i drank my first Starbucks drink... haha... hot chocolate... and made friends... weird friends... who think my sis and i are weird...
okay... on the first day... we got on the plane at 8 something... supposed to get off at 2 something... because of turbulent weather... got off at 3... sigh... and it was freezing... then had to look for the other family... cos' we were on a tour... there was another family on that plane... found them in Starbucks... haha...
anyways... we had to walk a long, long, long distance to the bus... cos' the stupid bus uncle parked it so far away... and it was freezing. like, hello? it was below zero degrees, okay?
well anyways... we then went to the restaurant... a couple was there already... talked... introductions... ate... food not bad lah... but it was the same thing for the rest of our trip... missed Singapore food... felt kinda crappy... cos' i was missing church... and all my churchmates... then we went to the hotel...
woke up early the next day... ultra crappy the whole of Sunday... cos' i wanted to be in church... with that family... not at the Forbidden City where everything was being repaired... for the Olympics... sigh... drank my hot chocolate there... froze to death... hands got numb... stuff like that... didn't feel like taking pictures... cos' i didn't want to smile...
then we went to he shen's garden... was gigantic, i tell you... froze some more... walk and walk and walk... and i forgot what we did next...
then on the third day... we went to the Great Wall of China... climbed up the wall... counted the steps... lost count at three hundred... that was less than half of the steps... sigh sigh...
then we went to the grave of the emperors... quite a big place... saw the skeleton of the emperor... in a picture... not up close... thank goodness... then... one of the few parts of the trip i enjoyed... we went skiing... was much faster than my sis... zoomed right down... super cool... and super cold... my first encounter with snow... yay... then we went for our dinner... then went back to the hotel...
then... we went to Happy Valley on the fourth day... forgot what we did in the morning... the first ride was super cool, i tell you... was at the front with my sis and Marcus... Janice was too short... cannot ride... my fellow tourmates... then... after we were strapped in... they lifted up the seats... so we were facing the ground... scary i tell you... then our ride began... first we went up... and we were staring down... scary... then as we were about to go down... i was like," oh my gosh." and Marcus asked if i was having second thoughts... and i said yeah... then we went D O W N
and we went upside down... and looped around... felt as if i was going to bang into something... but i didn't... super cool... but the ride was fast... and very short... and soon it was over... and we couldn't go again... sigh...
anyways... there was this ride where we went upside-down... and turned around... and a mini roller coaster... fun... and that's it... my tour guide (Yuki!) went for the first ride i took... gave her a heart attack... super cool... my sis got freaked out by the ride... haha... then we went to eat our dinner... then went shopping... where we lost our dad... sigh... found him in the end lah... so no need to worry... then we went back to the hotel...
then next day... went to the medical hall... and the pearl factory! they killed an oyster right there and then... poor oyster... 24 pearls in it... Marcus picked the oyster... and we each got one... the person who picked it got the biggest... lucky him... and my sis and i got a free pearl ring... talked and played with Janice and Marcus... laughed... and just mingled... good... ended up buying the pearl powder and the pearl cream... Ci Xi emperess looked younger than my mum when she was 71... she consumed lots of pearl powder...
we watched the acrobatic show... and shopped... got an i-pod nano (fake lah! that place sells fakes) for $28... it doesn't work... giving it to my dad... got winter clothes... and an addidas track suit... we should have went down... then could buy bags and shoes... sigh...
then... went to ask for e-mail addresses... and Janice's parents chased she and Marcus down to play with us while they had their massage... Marcus wanted to stay outside at first... but then... the security guard asked if he was locked out... and he said he wasn't... then couldn't stand it... and came in... haha... then talked... and talked... and laughed... then my sis said something... made me start hating myself... sigh... anyways... was unsuccessful for my third language... think i'll apply for German... hmm...
then went home the next day... thank goodness... i think i'll die if i have to continue staying in Beijing... but now i'm super insecure... and i hate myself... honestly... sigh...
Jacqueline got posted to SC... but she doesn't want to stay there... wonder why...i love SC...
okay... i'm tired and i feel crappy and my grandparents are coming tomorrow.
think i better get some sleep.
later, toony
